Zymeworks to Present Preclinical Data on ZW1953, a Multispecific T Cell Engager with Integrated CD28 Co-stimulation for Acute Myeloid Leukemia, at ASH 2026

Today we announced that preclinical data on ZW1953, a novel multispecific T cell engager (TCE) with integrated CD28 co-stimulation for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), will be presented at the 68th American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition taking place on December 12-15, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

ZW1953 is designed to address key challenges that have limited the success of T cell-directed therapies in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), including antigen heterogeneity and escape, overlapping antigen expression on normal hematopoietic cells, and T cell dysfunction. The molecule targets AML blasts and leukemic stem cells through gated, combinatorial targeting of FLT3, CLEC12A, and CD33, and is engineered to have minimal activity on cells expressing only CD33 or CLEC12A in order to spare healthy hematopoietic cells. ZW1953 is the first application of Zymeworks’ integrated CD28 co-stimulation platform in a hematologic malignancy.
